Methi leaves Pulao By Keerthana

Ingredients:

1 cup Basmati Rice
2 bunch Methi leaves
1/2 cup Petite Peas (optional)
1 small  Tomato (chopped)
2 Green Chilli (finely chopped)
1 Tea Spoon Ginger-Garlic Paste
1/4 Teaspoon Turmeric powder
Teaspoon Coriander powder
Teaspoon Chilli powder
1Teaspoon Cumin seeds
1tbsp Oil
Salt


Preparation: 


              ·        Take methi bunch, cut them into small pieces and wash. Add some salt and let sit for 10-20 mins.
·        Cook the required quantity of basmati rice with ghee and salt. Cool it and keep aside.
·        Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, green chilli and little bit of ginger garlic paste (very light), tomato, saute for a min
·        Then add green peas along with salt and cook with lid closed for couple of mins or until tender.
·        Now take the methi leaves, remove the water, squeeze them and add into the pan. Let it cook for 5-10 min.   Add the cooked rice and mix well.
·        Now add coriander powder, chilli powder and turmeric powder, and little salt (check before adding)
·        Close the lid and cook for 3 mins at low heat.  Switch off and garnish with cilantro and serve hot.
